JOB SUMMARY:
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining and supporting enterprise-wide data analytics and reporting solutions. You will design innovative reporting and business intelligent solutions in an automated manner using a single version of the truth data warehousing model.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with business users to understand their business processes, gather and document requirements and translate them into functional and non-functional specifications for BI reports and applications.
• Proactively work with other members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by project scope, timelines and budgets.
• Design and optimization of conceptual and logical dimensional data models for data marts to support reporting infrastructure.
• Identify data quality issues and support the data governance initiative by participating in necessary activities including data profiling.
• Develop dashboards, scorecards, and parametized reports from a variety of data sources.
• Assess existing and available data warehousing technologies and methods to ensure our Data Warehouse/BI Architecture meets the needs of the business and allows for business growth. Provide recommendations on evolution of the architecture.
• Create ad-hoc queries and reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for these requests.
• Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, create test plans and evaluate testing results taking corrective action as necessary.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to identify system deficiencies, analyze problems and solutions to conclude and implement corrective action.
• Participate in evaluating and analyzing the relational database management systems, utilities and tools offered by BI applications/tools vendors.
• Translate business needs into recommendations for improvements and additions to data structures and data assets.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 –7 years of hands-on experience in architecting and developing Business Intelligence solutions (dimensional models, data marts, dashboards, scorecards, reports) against relational and dimensional underlying data in a data warehousing environment.
2. Experienced with relational database management systems (MS SQL Server) is required along with expertise in building cubes and programming complex SQL queries through stored procedures.
3.Solid understanding and experience with Business Intelligence Tools. Specifically, proficiency with Business Objects (strongly preferred); Cognos; Essbase; or SAP
4. Actively listens, with an ear for not only what is said but what is meant, to clearly articulate technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Thorough knowledge of Data Warehousing Architectures, data integration, data profiling, data modeling tools and OLAP technologies.
6. Ability to perform detailed data analysis.
7. Experienced working in a dynamic team environment with a culture of ownership and initiative that has aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities.
8. Strong business and analytical skills with experience leading and facilitating requirements and analysis meetings, including resolution of conflicts over data and business rule definitions and data quality requirements.
9. Should be a results oriented professional with amazing verbal/written communication skills and incredible customer service skills.
10. Travel and after-hours support required.
11. Valid CA Driver’s License and the ability to be covered under company sponsored vehicle insurance program.
