Job Summary: This position is responsible for the day-to-day support and planning of fruit to ensure the proper distribution for all customers loading from any Driscoll’s owned and/or operated facility. Interacts with the Sales, Distribution, Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Packaging Departments. Is responsible for assisting with the reduction of freight charges, damage to fruit, and maintenance of the Fresh Fruit Initiative. Will support loading windows and appointment process. Maintenance and distribution of reports.


Job Qualifications: Experience in produce is desired. Beginner to intermediate level in Outlook, Word and Excel required. Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail is required. Will need to demonstrate the ability to effectively and constructively provide feedback to team members; create positive solutions for the team and for the internal and external customers; motivate others; exhibit company values; and be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of colleagues, customers and growers. Must be able to make smart decisions quickly and multi-task. Good written and verbal skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Travel is required. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.


Responsibilities:
• Will support departments throughout the company through planning and communication with regard to fruit and order movement and/or changes.
• Acts as liaison between the Sales and Distribution departments.
• Use of computer software programs to provide meaningful measurements and metrics with regards to product planning and customer service related items.
• Creation and distribution of daily packout to growing areas, and product flow reports and metrics.
• Supports Fresh Fruit Initiative, including monitoring fruit demand and import fruit.
• Supports the Loading Windows and Appointment Process to ensure proper product flow that allows for effective throughput in the facilities.
• Maintains the Fresh Fruit Initiative to ensure proper rotation of fruit through communication with Driscoll’s owned and/or operated distribution centers.
• Assists in minimizing fruit movement within the Driscoll’s owned and/or operated distribution centers to reduce freight charges and damage to fruit.
• Assists with special fruit requests.
• Plans transfers of fruit to meet demand.
• Works closely with Transportation to minimize freight charges.
• Communicates capacity issues, order fulfillment, and other Distribution Issues to Sales and the Product Business Management Group.
• Communicates to the Sales and Distribution Departments order changes and fulfillment interruptions.
• Performs other duties as instructed by Supervisor.
