Job Summary: Manages Driscoll’s philanthropy program, including employee and grower philanthropic efforts, all aspects of funding, volunteer involvement and stakeholder engagement.
Assists in recruitment and selection process; trains and develops philanthropy team leaders and members. Manages all philanthropy communication; is primary contact for all internal and external communication for philanthropy program. Following Driscoll’s strategic plan, inspires and leads philanthropic growth and impact in Driscoll’s communities through corporate and regional programs. Business travel 15% of work time(domestic and international).
Job Responsibilities:
• Research, evaluate and oversee funding structure and activities
• Participate in strategic planning process for program
• Maintain knowledge about current trends, emerging issues, policy interventions and innovations
• Manage philanthropy related meetings and events as lead or coordination through others
• Review, assess and proactively cultivate grant-making and advocacy opportunities
• Manage and promote relationships with primary non-profit partners and the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, CA. Develop partnerships with other institutions.
• Drive the promotion of, and support employee-led volunteer efforts and activities
• Oversee philanthropy department database input, tracking and reporting
• Generate internal communication to stakeholders; deliver oral presentations
• Oversee execution and planning of service awards and creation of recognition tools
• Ensure documentation of program activity through videos and photographs
• Promote, coordinate and execute the Matching programs; oversee Berry Donation Program;
manage Winter Wishes regional efforts
• Manage program budget and budget-related processes
• Create and present all necessary reports and presentations
• Formally implement Driscoll’s new philanthropy regions as they develop
• Manage program Interns as assigned
• Ensure the security of Driscoll’s proprietary and confidential information and materials
• Other philanthropy projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Philanthropic Studies or related field
• Minimum three years experience preferred managing employees and volunteers
• Minimum three years work experience at corporate or foundation level including budget management
• Excellent multiple-project management ability; organizational and priority-setting skills
• MS Office Suite intermediate level; experience with computer databases and reporting tools
• Resourcefulness, problem-solving, decision-making and engagement skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally; to build and maintain all levels of internal/external relationships
• Established meeting and team facilitation skills
• Effective presentation style; strong oral and written communication skills (English/Spanish)
• Sound analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills
• Bilingual, bi-literate (English/Spanish) required
• Valid California driver’s license and eligibility for company auto insurance
• Valid U.S. Passport
• A passion for and knowledge of community issues, the non-profit community, funding policy and regulation, and volunteering practices and programs
• Reputation for high level of integrity and judgment in philanthropy
• Experience working within global philanthropy or cross-cultural community development a plus
