Job Summary: Establish and maintain effective financial analysis tools, and partner with business owners to provide business decision support for the following areas within Supply & Operations:
National & Regional Distribution Group
District & Regional Managers
Delivery Systems Teams
Supply Chain Management
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1). OPERATIONAL FINANCIAL ANALYSIS TOOLS: Build and maintain robust comparative distribution reporting tool that takes into consideration volume, rate and product mix variances, as well as fixed versus variable expense analyses. Develop monthly operating expense variance analyses for district and regional managers, delivery systems and supply chain management. Provide key financial metrics for the Supply & Operations scorecard. Serve as an advocate for the Supply & Operations group as we build our business intelligence platform. Serve as a resource for financial analysis on capital projects on an as needed basis.
2). PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Participate and/or lead process improvement efforts on cross-functional teams, calculate return on investment on a wide variety of potential projects, as well as create and maintain scorecards to track progress towards intended goals.
3). FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS SUPPORT: Will support finance functions during annual budget and quarterly projection process by providing financial summaries supporting business owners' case for expected spend. Provide support for variance analysis on an as needed basis. Assist District & Regional Managers in interpreting monthly P&L's.
4). GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Will represent Driscoll's in an ethical and professional manner in all interactions with co-workers, growers, vendors, government agencies and customers of Driscoll's and ensure the confidentiality of financial, proprietary and confidential information. Performs other duties as instructed by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1). Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field requried; CMA (Certified Management Accountant) Cerfitication preferred.
2). Experience: five to eight years of professional accounting and direct operational accounting and/or cost accounting, as well as experience with one or more process improvement methodologies.
3). Technical Skills: Basic knowldege of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP). A demonstrated track record of creating activity based costing reports. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Applications (specifically Excel) and enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) and experience using these tools for data mining and process improvement purposes. Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, or Hyperion products a plus.
4). Must demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced and unstructured environment. Must demonstrate solid analytical and organizational skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work with little supervision demonstrating the ability to be pro-active and persistent with attention to detail. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to interact with all levels within the organization. Must be able to develop and maintain business partnerships with the Supply & Operations team and related cross-functional groups. Moderate travel (15 - 20%) is required as is the ability to maintain a valid CA Driver's Licesne and eligibility for insurance under company sponsored insurance plan.
