Finance Director


Job Purpose: Overall management responsibility for the collection, analysis, reporting and controlling of the company’s finances, including the management of the finance team, and company secretary obligations.
Location: Based in Melbourne, Victoria
Reports to: Managing Director
Contacts: Managing Director; Sales team; Production team; Office staff.
(External) Joint Venture partners; Customers; Government authorities;

Org. Chart:

Major Responsibilities:
• Direct all financial operations of the Company, in accordance with company policy and MD direction.
• Oversee, manage and report on all financial activities of the company including development of an operating budget, performance against budget, forecasting, cash flow management, receivables, payables and payroll function.
• Review and approve capital expenditure proposals in line with capital expenditure budgets.
• Maintain the soundness of the Company’s financial structure and balance sheet and ensure continuous improvement in financial systems and personnel.
• Maintain and administer Company secretarial records properly and in a timely manner.
• Oversee all weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end financial functions and provide reports as required. .
• Other duties as required.

Hours of Work:
As required to complete tasks. Hours will need to be flexible in line with seasonal requirements

Candidate Requirements: (Education, skills, experience):
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards
• Excellent communication skills
• Intermediate level of expertise with Excel
• 3+ years experience in commercial environment.
• Exposure to horticulture or similar industry
• Experience with SAP an advantage
• Ability to work in a team
